Popular Dances through the Decades

70s

Rock the Boat

Well you can find this dance at pretty much every Irish wedding after people have had one too many. It involves the participants all sitting together in lines, one behind the other. Then, as the chorus of the song comes in the people sway from side to side.

80s

Walk the Dinosaur

Well this one was a favourite at many an 80s party. Do you remember the moves, and can you still do them all these years later? - Assume the position of a dinosaur and follow the women in the video below!

90s

La Macarena

This dance still remains popular today. It's known for its simplicity, as everyone can do it, no matter how bad a dancer you are. The simple routine has proved to be one of the most popular ever.

00s

Cha Cha Slide

This one has proven tricky enough to even the most nimble of us dancers. It was born in the early 2000s after 'DJ Casper' released his one and only hit single. The best thing about this dance is you don't need to know the dance, just follow Casper's orders. Sorry, but your never going to be as impressive as the dancers in the video...
